Regarding
Postponement of Decanal Review of Dean Christopher Malloy
Dear University
Senate Executive Committee Members,
Given Dean
Chris Molloy's recent appointment as Interim Provost for Biomedical and
Health
Sciences and Special Assistant to the President for Biomedical and
Health
Sciences, I am writing to inform you that we are postposing
indefinitely our
planned decanal review of Dean Molloy during this academic year. I
thank you
for responding to my request for nominees to serve on the review
committee in
such a timely manner, and especially want to thank those faculty
volunteering
to serve on the decanal review committee. Incorporating the Robert
Wood
Johnson Medical School, the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, and the
School of
Public Health into Rutgers provides us with tremendous opportunities
but will
require extensive organizational and academic planning if we are to
achieve a successful merger. I appreciate your understanding
of our
need to adjust university priorities in order to accommodate
coordination
of this important and challenging task.
We are
considering initiating additional decanal reviews later this academic
year, and
should we decide to move in that direction, I will be back to you in
the spring
semester with details of our plans.
Sincerely,
Richard L. Edwards
Interim Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs
