The
Committee on Near- and Long-term Impact of Instructional Technology has
made
considerable progress toward realization of our charge.
At this stage we have subdivided into four
interacting subcommittees in order gather data regarding the current
status and
climate of instructional technology at Rutgers, how instructional
technology is
related to teaching pedagogy, what infrastructure and resources exist
at Rutgers
and who is served by them, and what is the status of instructional
technology
at peer and aspirational institutions (including within the CIC).
We
intend that our initial data collection will be completed by Feb. 2015,
and
that we will submit an initial report that provides a summary and
analysis of
that data to President Barchi by the end of March, 2015.
This data will be used to support and justify
specific proposed projects as a part of a tactical and strategic
institutional
plan for instructional technology at Rutgers.
