Subject:  Evaluation of Dean John Colaizzi

"A resolution passed by the University Senate at its 27 April 2001 meeting called for the regular evaluation of deans by their faculty and students.  During Academic Year 2002-03, on the New Brunswick campus Dean Gustav Friedrich of SCILS and Dean Louise Wilkinson of the GSE were evaluated.  In accordance with the provisions of the Senate resolution, confidential copies of the final evaluation reports were shared with President Lawrence and Professor Kathy Scott, then President of the University Senate.

"New Brunswick reviews scheduled for the current academic year include Deans Colaizzi and Klein, and Undergraduate Deans Hyndman (deadline extended from last year) and Kirschner.  I am pleased to report that the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy review, ably led by Professor Allan Conney, has now been completed.  Enclosed for your review and records is a confidential copy of the Evaluation Committee’s Report.  The review was conducted fairly and thoroughly.  It demonstrates an extraordinarily high level of support for Dean Colaizzi from his faculty, students, and staff, providing a strong consensus that he had provided effective leadership over a substantial period for the School."
