TEXT OF EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT FOR
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS PHILIP FURMANSKI'S JANUARY 26, 2006 LETTER
TRANSMITTING THE PROPOSAL FOR ESTABLISHMENT OF A SCHOOL OF PUBLIC
AFFAIRS AND ADMINISTRATION AT RUTGERS-NEWARK:
Attached is a proposal
for establishment of a School of Public Affairs and Administration at
Rutgers-Newark. Building on the existing Graduate Department
of Public Administration, the new School of Public Affairs and
Administration will enhance Rutgers-Newark as a center of professional
education, further engage the campus in the urban community, and
increase the university's connections to the people of New
Jersey. I would appreciate receiving the Senate's advice on this
initiative at your earliest opportunity. Thank you for your
attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Philip Furmanski
