I am pleased to accept the Report on Resolutions Concerning Educational Priorities as approved by the University Senate on April 23, 2004.  I share the Rutgers Chapter of AAUP’s goal of bringing Rutgers into the top echelon of public research universities through outstanding programs of instruction, research, and service.

Let me also state my pleasure that the university and the union have reached agreement on a contract for our professors, graduate assistants, and teaching assistants.  My thanks to all those involved in bringing the negotiations to a satisfactory conclusion.
