I am pleased to accept the Report on Endorsement of the Coalition on Intercollegiate Athletics’ (COIA) Framework for Comprehensive Athletics Reform as approved by the University Senate on February 20, 2004. As you expressed in your statement, the Framework will be useful in discussing the future direction of intercollegiate athletics among colleges, universities, and athletic conferences across the nation.
