I am pleased to accept the Resolution in Appreciation of Student Participation in Trenton Rally Protesting Proposed State Budget Cuts as approved by the University Senate on March 28, 2003. Clearly, the students’ tremendous response to the call for participation contributed significantly to the restoration of funding that was achieved.

It is my hope that continued student participation in budget advocacy will help Rutgers receive the state support we need to provide the outstanding teaching, research, and service that are the mark of the very best public research universities.
