Text of April 22, 2004 letter to Senate from President McCormick acknowledging Report and Recommendations on Student Advising:

Thank you for sending me the Report and Recommendations on Student Advising as approved by the University Senate on May 2, 2003. My thanks to the Senate's Instruction, Curricula and Advising Committee for its thoughtful work on this issue.

Student advising is one of many important aspects of the undergraduate experience at Rutgers that the Task Force on Undergraduate Learning and Life will be assessing and evaluating under the leadership of chair Barry Qualls.  While I do not want to pre-empt the conclusions that the task force will draw nor the recommendations it will make, the task force clearly will have the benefit of your report as it moves forward in its work.

Sincerely yours,
Richard L. McCormick
