TEXT OF NOVEMBER 15, 2010 EMAIL FROM G. BLIMLING, VICE PRESIDENT FOR STUDENT AFFAIRS, TRANSMITTING RECOMMENDED CHANGES TO THE CODE OF STUDENT CONDUCT:

The Committee on Student Conduct has recommended several changes to the Code of Student Conduct. A copy of their letter to me and a copy of the Code of Student Conduct showing the changes are attached.

Most of the changes are technical and procedural. The most substantive change the Committee recommended is to permit Camden and Newark to determine and approve disciplinary sanctions, consistent with the Code, for students on their campuses. Currently, I approve their sanctions. I agree with the recommendations of the Committee on Student Conduct.

Plese inform the Executive Committee of the University Senate of these changes. If they wish to discuss any of them with me, I am available to do so.

Best regards,

Gregory S. Blimling
Vice President for Student Affairs
