TEXT OF PRESIDENT
McCORMICK'S APRIL 13, 2009
RESPONSE TO THE REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS ON CHARGE A-0810, INCLUDING
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION AS A VOTING,
EX-OFFICIO ADMINISTRATIVE SENATOR:
Dear Mr. Swalagin:
I am writing in response to
the Report and Recommendations on Charge A-0810, Including Senior Vice
President for Finance and Administration as a voting, ex-officio Administrative
Senator, as adopted by the University Senate on March 27, 2009. The members of
the University Structure and Governance Committee have my appreciation for their
positive response to this suggestion from Executive Vice President Furmanski. I
believe the Senior Vice President will be a welcome addition to the Senate,
providing high-level guidance on financial and administrative matters to both
the Executive Committee and the Budget and Finance Committee. We will adjust
the number of other administrative-appointee Senators for the 2009-10 Academic
Year, in accordance with the report’s recommendations.
Sincerely yours,
Richard L. McCormick
