We are writing to inform you of NJ PIRG Student Chapters’ intent to conduct our referendum this Fall 2004.  We hold this referendum every 3 years in order to reaffirm our waivable fee on the tuition bill.  As you should know, we have completed the first step in this process, with the University Senate approving our Concept Plan last fall.  We are now sending you our letter of intent in order for you to contact the Student Governments in each division where we intend to run the referendum.

We intend to run our referendum in the following divisions of Rutgers University:
Newark College of Arts & Sciences

Newark- College of Nursing
Newark- Graduate School
Newark- Graduate School of Business
Newark Law School
Newark School and Graduate School of Criminal Justice
Camden College of Arts and Sciences

Camden University College
Camden Graduate School
Camden School of Law
Rutgers College

Cook College
Livingston College
New Brunswick Graduate School
Graduate School of Education- NB
Graduate School of Social Work- NB
New Brunswick- University College

Affiliates through RC, DC, CC, and LC:

We are aiming to start our referendum on October 19, 2004.  We expect it to run 4 weeks, but will ask permission of the oversight committees to run it through the end of the fall semester (if needed)- just in case that is what it takes to hit our threshold requirement.

Please feel free to contact us through the contact information found below.  Let us know if you need any more information from us.  We will keep you informed of our progress on the referendum process.

Thank you in advance.
