TEXT OF PRESIDENT McCORMICK'S JUNE 21, 2010 RESPONSE TO REPORT AND RECOMMENDATIONS ON CHARGE S-0905, ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY
I am writing in response to the Report and Recommendations on
Charge S-0905 on the Academic Integrity Policy, as adopted by the
University Senate on April 30, 2010.
My administration is pleased to accept the Senate's recommendation to
extend the Interim Academic Integrity Policy for an additional year,
beginning September 1, 2010. Also, I applaud the considerable progress
that has been made in revising the Academic Integrity Policy. It is my
understanding that the draft revised policy, released by the ad-hoc
Academic Integrity Committee (AIC) in March 2010, is under review by
the university community, and that a newly revised policy will be
submitted to the Senate for approval this fall, with an effective date
of September 1, 2011.
The members of the Academic Standards, Regulations and Admissions
Committee have my thanks for their continuing attention to this
important issue.
Sincerely yours,
Richard L. McCormick
