Text of February 19, 2004 letter to Senate from President McCormick acknowledging Report and Resolution of Textbook Buyback:

I am pleased to accept the Report and Resolution on Textbook Buyback as approved by the University Senate on May 2, 2003. Clearly, we should be doing all we can to help students keep their textbook expenses as low as possible.

The administration is committed to improving textbook buyback and has been working with faculty and the bookstores on ways to make it as easy as possible for faculty members to work through the process. We will make a special effort to work with those faculty members who have not met the deadlines for book orders in the past.

My thanks to the Senate and to the members of the Student Affairs Committee for their work on this issue of importance to all Rutgers students.

Sincerely yours,

Richard L. McCormick
